It contains only one known species, Dictyostega orobanchoides, native to southern Mexico (Veracruz, Chiapas, Oaxaca), Central America, Trinidad, and South America (Brazil, French Guiana, Suriname, Guyana, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia)).
