Lichinomycetes Reeb, Lutzoni & Cl. Roux 2004
fungi class in the phylum ascomycota
Lichinales is the sole order of ascomycete fungi in the class Lichinomycetes. It contains three families: Gloeoheppiaceae (3 genera), Lichinaceae (43 genera), and Peltulaceae (1 genus). Most species are lichenized. Lichinales was proposed in 1986 by German lichenologists Aino Henssen and Burkhard Büdel. The class Lichinomycetes was created by Valérie Reeb, François Lutzoni and Claude Roux in 2004. A study published in late 2022 suggests that six classes of fungi, Candelariomycetes, Coniocybomycetes, Geoglossomycetes, Lichinomycetes, Sareomycetes, and Xylonomycetes, are all part of a clade
Acarosporales (Cobblestone Lichens) Reeb, Lutzoni & Cl. Roux 2007
fungi order in the class lecanoromycetes
The Acarosporales are an order of fungi in the class Lecanoromycetes. Phylogenetic analyses conducted using the sequences of both the protein-coding gene RPB2 as well as nuclear ribosomal genes place this order within the subclass Acarosporomycetidae. According to a recent (2020) survey of fungal classification, the Acarosporales contain two families: Acarosporaceae, with 11 genera and about 260 species, and Eigleraceae, with 1 genus and 2 species.
Ostropomycetidae (Wart Lichens) Reeb, Lutzoni & Cl. Roux 2004
fungi subclass
The Ostropomycetidae are a subclass of mostly lichen-forming fungi in the class Lecanoromycetes. It contains nine orders and 37 families. Arctomiaceae is the only family in the Ostropomycetidae that associates with cyanobacteria of the order Nostocales as its main photobiont partner.

Bellemerea (Brown Sunken Disk Lichens) Hafellner & Cl. Roux 1984
fungi genus in the lecideaceae family
Bellemerea is a genus of saxicolous (rock-dwelling) crustose lichens in the family Lecideaceae. These lichens form tough, crusty patches on hard rock surfaces, often appearing as a mosaic of small angular blocks in colours ranging from white and grey to brown. The genus includes nine species found primarily in mountainous and polar regions where they help colonize bare rock surfaces in harsh environments.

Schaereria fuscocinerea (False Map Lichen) (Nyl.) Clauzade & Cl. Roux 1985
fungi species in the schaereriaceae family
Schaereria fuscocinerea is a species of saxicolous (rock-dwelling), crustose lichen in the family Schaereriaceae. It was first formally described in 1852 by Finnish lichenologist William Nylander, as Lecidea fusco-cinerea. Georges Clauzade and Claude Roux transferred it to the genus Schaereria in 1985. The species has a cosmopolitan distribution and is found in both northern and southern hemispheres, where it grows on hard siliceous rocks, often in arctic and mountainous areas. Similar species include Lambiella gyrizans and L. mullensis, which can be distinguished from Schaereria fuscocinerea

Parabagliettoa Gueidan & Cl. Roux 2009
fungi genus in the verrucariaceae family
Parabagliettoa is a genus of crustose lichens in the family Verrucariaceae. It has 3 species. The genus was circumscribed in 2009 by Cécile Gueidan and Claude Roux, with Parabagliettoa dufourii assigned as the type species.
Clauzadeana Cl. Roux 1984
fungi genus in the lecanoraceae family
Clauzadeana is a genus of lichen-forming fungi in the family Lecanoraceae. The genus was circumscribed in 1984 by Claude Roux, with the crustose species C. instratula assigned as the type. The genus name Clauzadeana honours F.J. Georges Clauzade (1914–2002), a French teacher and botanist (Mycology and Lichenology).
Bellemerea alpina (Alpine Brown Sunken Disk Lichen) (Sommerf.) Clauzade & Cl. Roux 1984
fungi species in the lecideaceae family
Bellemerea alpina, the brown sunken disk lichen, is a white to pale tan, thick crustose areolate lichen that grows on rock in the mountains worldwide. It grows in arctic-alpine habitats in Eurasia, North America (south to California and Arizona), Australia, and New Zealand. Areoles are sometimes contiguous and sometimes dispersed. It often has very visible black prothallus. The brown to tan apothecia have a purplish tinge and are grayed by a pruinose coating, and embedded in the areoles, giving a similar appearance to members of the genus Aspicilia.

Hydropunctaria amphibia (Clemente) Cl. Roux 2011
fungi species in the verrucariaceae family
Hydropunctaria amphibia is a species of saxicolous (rock-dwelling), crustose lichen in the family Verrucariaceae. One of several marine lichens in the genus Hydropunctaria, is widely distributed across Europe, extending from Norway to the Mediterranean and the Iberian coasts, and has a nearly ubiquitous presence along the Catalan coast of Spain. In North America, it is found along the Atlantic Coast from Nova Scotia to the Boston Harbor islands, where its presence in low-pollution areas indicates its potential as a bioindicator for marine lichen community health, and on the west coast in
Bagliettoa marmorea (Purple Pitted-stone Lichen) (Scop.) Gueidan & Cl. Roux 2007
fungi species in the verrucariaceae family
Bagliettoa marmorea is a species of saxicolous (rock-dwelling), crustose lichen in the family Verrucariaceae. It is endolithic on calcareous rocks, meaning it grows under and around the rock crystals. The colour of the lichen is purple to pink, although sometimes it is grey with purple pigments visible only around the perithecia. It does not have a shield-shaped involucrellum, which is typical of several other species in genus Bagliettoa. The excipulum (the rim of tissue around the ascomata) measures 0.2–0.3 mm in diameter and lacks colour other than the upper part, which is purple.

Verruculopsis Gueidan, Nav.-Ros. & Cl. Roux 2007
fungi genus in the verrucariaceae family
Verruculopsis is a genus of saxicolous (rock-dwelling), crustose lichens in the family Verrucariaceae. The genus was established in 2007 when DNA studies revealed that several species previously classified elsewhere actually formed their own distinct evolutionary group. Most species in the genus live as parasites on bright orange crustose lichens, though one species grows independently on rock surfaces without needing a host.
