Sporastatiaceae Bendiksby & Timdal 2013
fungi family in the order rhizocarpales
Sporastatiaceae is a small family of crustose lichens in the order Rhizocarpales. It contains two genera, Sporastatia and Toensbergia, with a total of five species. Sporastatiaceae was circumscribed in 2013 by Mika Bendiksby and Ernst Timdal.
Anamylopsora pulcherrima (Anamylopsoraceae) (Vain.) Timdal 1991
fungi species in the baeomycetaceae family
The Baeomycetales are an order of mostly lichen-forming fungi in the subclass Ostropomycetidae, in the class Lecanoromycetes. It contains 8 families, 33 genera and about 170 species. As a result of molecular phylogenetics research published in the late 2010s, several orders were folded into the Baeomycetales, resulting in a substantial increase in the number of taxa.
Xylopsora (Old-growth Clam Lichens) Bendiksby & Timdal 2013
fungi genus in the umbilicariaceae family
Xylopsora is a genus of lichen-forming fungi, belonging to the family Umbilicariaceae. The genus was established in 2013 when genetic studies showed that several scale-forming (squamulose) lichens previously grouped together were not actually closely related. Species of Xylopsora typically grow on wood, especially old or fire-scarred timber, in forests of the Northern Hemisphere. The genus includes four recognized species, some of which were only recently discovered growing high in tree canopies or detected through environmental DNA techniques.
Psora pseudorussellii (False Russell's Fishscale Lichen) Timdal 1987
fungi species in the psoraceae family
Psora pseudorussellii, the bordered scale, is a species of rock-dwelling squamulose lichen in the family Psoraceae. It forms patches of small, brown, scale-like structures with distinctive white margins on limestone and other calcareous rocks in eastern and southern North America, from southeastern Canada south into Mexico. The species was described in 1986 to separate it from similar material that had been confused with Psora russellii, and DNA studies have confirmed that it is restricted to North America, with European and Asian specimens previously identified as this species actually
Gypsoplacaceae (Gypsum Earthscale Lichen Family) Timdal 1990
fungi family in the order lecanorales
Gypsoplacaceae is a family of lichenized fungi in the order Lecanorales. This is a monotypic family, containing the single genus Gypsoplaca, which has a widespread distribution. The family and genus were described as new in 1990 by Norwegian lichenologist Einar Timdal. Gypsoplaca originally contained only the type species, Gypsoplaca macrophylla, but four species were added to the genus in 2018.

fungi genus in the carbonicolaceae family
Carbonicola is a small genus of lichen-forming fungi. It is the sole genus in the monogeneric family Carbonicolaceae. The genus, which collectively has an almost cosmopolitan distribution, contains three squamulose lichens that prefer to grow on burned wood in temperate areas of the world.

fungi genus in the sporastatiaceae family
Toensbergia is a small genus of lichen-forming fungi in the family Sporastatiaceae. These lichens form pale, granular crusts on moist soil, mossy rocks, and conifer bark, spreading primarily through powdery particles rather than sexual reproduction. The genus was established in 2013 and named after the Norwegian lichenologist Tor Tønsberg for his work on bark-dwelling lichens.

Porpidinia is a genus of lichen-forming fungi in the family Lecideaceae. It has two species of saxicolous (rock-dwelling) lichens. The type species of the genus, Porpidinia tumidula, thrives in a variety of settings from coastal to mountainous areas, primarily on lime-rich rocks, and is widely spread across southern to northern Europe, northern Africa, parts of Asia, and New Zealand. Meanwhile, Porpidinia brevispora is more regionally confined, found specifically in the Sikhote-Alin range in the Russian Far East, favouring carbonate rocks at lower altitudes.
