German-australian botanist (1825–1896).

Baron Sir Ferdinand Jacob Heinrich von Mueller, (German: Müller; 30 June 1825 – 10 October 1896) was a German-Australian physician, geographer, and most notably, a botanist. He was appointed government botanist for the then colony of Victoria, Australia by Governor Charles La Trobe in 1853, and later director of the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne. He also founded the National Herbarium of Victoria. He named many Australian plants.

Marasmius crinis-equi is a species of fungi in the family Marasmiaceae, being a plant pathogen. It is commonly known as the 'horse hair fungus', and appears on rainforest leaves as a wiry stipe with a delicate fruitbody. The cap of the fruitbody can be up to 4 mm in diameter, and is pale brown.

Xanthoparmelia semiviridis, also known as resurrection lichen is a foliose lichen species in the family Parmeliaceae. Its common name comes from the reaction of a dry sample to moisture. In its dry state it appears like curled-up dry leaf litter on the ground, but after rainfall the lichen will quickly recover, unfurl and become darker in colour. It is found in semi-arid areas across southern Australia and the South Island of New Zealand.
