Pileolariaceae Cummins & Y. Hirats. 1983
fungi family in the order pucciniales
The Pileolariaceae are a family of rust fungi in the order Pucciniales. A 2008 estimate places contains 4 genera and 34 species in the family.
Phakopsoraceae Cummins & Hirats. f. 1983
fungi family in the order pucciniales
The Phakopsoraceae are a family of rust fungi in the order Pucciniales. The family contains 18 genera and 205 species.
Chaconiaceae Cummins & Y. Hirats. 1983
fungi family in the order pucciniales
The Chaconiaceae are a family of rust fungi in the order Pucciniales. The family contained 8 genera and 75 species in 2008. By 2020, there were 8 genera and 84 species. Most species have a tropical distribution. Maravalia cryptostegiae has been used with success as a biocontrol agent against rubber vine in Australia.
Mikronegeriaceae Cummins & Y. Hirats. 1983
fungi family in the order pucciniales
The Zaghouaniaceae are a family of rust fungus genera, some of which have long been considered incertae sedis in the order Pucciniales, based on the type genus Zaghouania. The classification of fungal taxa based on only morphological characteristics has long been recognised as problematical, so this order was reviewed over a long-term study using three DNA loci (including type species wherever possible) and published in 2021.
Pucciniosiraceae Cummins & Y. Hirats. 1983
fungi family in the order pucciniales
The Pucciniosiraceae are a family of rust fungi in the order Pucciniales. The family contains 10 genera and 57 species. In 2018, they were placed within the Uredinales order (which was a previous name for the Pucciniales). They are 'endocyclic rusts', species with endocyclic life cycles and having reduced autoecious life cycles (they complete their life cycle on a single host species), in which the aeciospores function as teliospores.
Frommella (Frommeella) Cummins & Y. Hirats. 1983
fungi genus in the phragmidiaceae family
Frommeella (Frommeëlla) is a genus of rust fungi in the family Phragmidiaceae. The widespread genus contains two species. The genus name of Frommeella is in honour of Fred Denton Fromme (1886–1966), who was an American botanist (Mycology) and Professor of Botany at Virginia Polytechnic Institute. The genus was circumscribed by George Baker Cummins and Yasuyuki Hiratsuka in Ill. Gen. Rust Fungi, rev. ed., Vol.120 on page 151 in 1983.
Arthuriomyces Cummins & Y. Hirats. 1983
fungi genus in the phragmidiaceae family
Arthuriomyces is a genus of rust fungi in the family Phragmidiaceae. The genus contains three species that are found in North America, Russia, China, and Japan. The genus is named in honor of American botanist Joseph Charles Arthur, noted for his research on rust fungi.
