Javier Etayo

Globonectria is a fungal genus in the class Sordariomycetes. This is a monotypic genus, containing the single species Globonectria cochensis. The species and genus was published by Javier Etayo in Biblthca Lichenol. vol.84 on page 47 in 2002.

Candelariella boleana is a species of lichen in the family Candelariaceae, first described from Europe in 2009. It is distinguished from all other members of its genus by its distinctly spherical ascospores, which are contained in unusually large numbers (16–32) within each spore-bearing structure. Pyrenula luteopruinosa is a species of corticolous (bark-dwelling), crustose lichen in the family Pyrenulaceae. It has a neotropical distribution, occurring in Panama, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii.

Pyrenula hibernica (also called oil-stain parmentaria) is a species of lichen found on the British Isles, in the western Pyrenees, and on the Azores and Madagascar. It has a yellow to dark olive green thallus with black perithecia which can become visible in older specimens, giving rise to the British common name blackberries in custard.

Mixtoconidium is a small genus of lichenicolous (lichen-dwelling) fungi in the division Ascomycota. Its relationship to other genera is unclear (incertae sedis), and it has not been assigned to any family, order or class. The genus was circumscribed by the Spanish mycologist Javier Etayo in 1995, with M. canariense assigned as the type and only species. An additional two species were recombined into the genus in 2017.
