Boletopsis nothofagi J.A. Cooper & P. Leonard 2012
endangered fungi species in the bankeraceae family
Boletopsis nothofagi is a fungus in the family Bankeraceae. The fungus forms grey fruit bodies that grow in clusters. Like all species of Boletopsis, it has a porous spore-bearing surface on the underside of the cap, but differs from other species of Boletopsis by having characteristics such as elongated spores and a green discoloration when stained with potassium hydroxide. Boletopsis nothofagi is endemic to New Zealand and has a mycorrhizal association with red beech (Nothofagus fusca). It is unknown when exactly the fungus forms its fruit body, but it has so far been found solely in May,

fungi species in the boletaceae family
Porphyrellus formosus, the dark velvet bolete, is a species of bolete fungus in the family Boletaceae, first described as Tylopilus formosus by Greta Stevenson in 1962, and moved to Porphyrellus genus in 2014 by J. A. Cooper. It is endemic to New Zealand, forming mycorrhiza with southern beeches and mānuka. Its distinguishing feature is all-black and velvety surface of cap and stalk. It initially has white pores that turn golden when aged.

fungi species in the auriculariaceae family
Exidia nothofagi is a species of fungus in the family Auriculariaceae. Basidiocarps (fruit bodies) are gelatinous, pallid, minute and pustular at first then coalescing and becoming irregularly effused. It grows on dead branches of southern beech and is known from New Zealand.
Psathyloma Soop, J.A. Cooper & Dima 2016
fungi genus in the hymenogastraceae family
Psathyloma is a genus of three species of mushroom-forming fungi in the family Hymenogastraceae. Used informally among New Zealand-based mycologists since 1997, the genus was formally circumscribed in 2016 with Psathyloma leucocarpum as the type species. The genus name, which combines Psathyrella and Hebeloma, alludes to the morphological similarity of the fruit bodies. Species in the genus Psathyloma are found in New Zealand, where they fruit on the ground in Nothofagus forests.
