John Eriksson

Swedish mycologist (1921—1995).

John Leonard Eriksson (26 March 1921 in Hagfors – 1 June 1995) was a Swedish mycologist. He specialized in crust fungi of the basidiomycetes, collecting in Sweden (especially in Muddus National Park, the Gothenburg region and Värnamo), Finland and Canada. Eriksson was a student of John Axel Nannfeldt and Seth Lundell, and defended his doctoral dissertation Studies in the Heterobasidiomycetes and Homobasidiomycetes-Aphyllophorales of Muddus National Park in Northern Sweden[3] on the wood-associated fungal flora in Muddus National Park at Uppsala University in 1958. Erythricium J. Erikss. & Hjortstam 1970
fungi genus in the corticiaceae family
Erythricium is a genus of fungi in the family Corticiaceae. Basidiocarps (fruit bodies) are effused, corticioid, and grow on wood or are lichenicolous. Erythricium salmonicolor is a widespread and commercially significant plant pathogen causing "pink disease" of Citrus and other trees.

Sistotrema brinkmannii (Bres.) J. Erikss. 1948
fungi species in the hydnaceae family
Sistotrema brinkmannii, a resupinate wood-rotting basidiomycete, is a fungus found in soil, moss, debris, rotten woods as well as woods including seedling roots of Pinus banksiana Lamb. and ectomycorrhizae. No health issues caused by this fungus in human and animals have been reported although it is causative of brown rot. This fungus grows rapidly on malt extract agar (MEA), forming white mats with a faint sweet odour. It is commonly called "chain chlamydospore fungus" because bulbils are formed by chains of its cells that resemble chlamydospores. The basidia of this fungus are urniform and
