Mycocaliciales Tibell & Wedin 2000
fungi order in the class eurotiomycetes
The Mycocaliciales are an order of ascomycetous fungi within the subclass Mycocaliciomycetidae and within the class Eurotiomycetes (subphylum Pezizomycotina).
Phaeotremella foliacea (Leafy Brain) (Pers.) Wedin, J.C. Zamora & Millanes 2016
edible fungi species in the tremellaceae family
Phaeotremella foliacea (synonym Tremella foliacea) is a species of fungus in the family Phaeotremellaceae. In the UK it has the recommended English name leafy brain and has also been called jelly leaf and brown witch's butter. It produces brownish, frondose, gelatinous basidiocarps (fruit bodies) and is parasitic on the mycelium of Stereum sanguinolentum, a fungus that grows on dead attached and recently fallen branches of conifers. It is widespread in north temperate regions.
Massalongiaceae Wedin, P.M. Jørg. & E. Wiklund 2007
fungi family in the order peltigerales
Massalongiaceae is a small family of lichen-forming fungi in the order Peltigerales. It has three genera and seven species. Species in this family have cyanobacteria as their primary symbiotic partner (cyanobiont), so they belong to the group known as "cyanobacterial lichens".
Silobia rufescens (Ach.) M. Westb. & Wedin 2010
fungi species in the acarosporaceae family
Silobia rufescens is a lichenized fungus, with a dark gray or brown crust-like appearance. It is widespread, and grows on siliceous rock. S. rufescens is in the genus Silobia, which is segregated from the genus Acarospora due to its budding apothecia with only lateral exciple.
Montanelia Divakar, A. Crespo, Wedin & Essl. 2012
fungi genus in the parmeliaceae family
Montanelia is a genus of lichen-forming fungi belonging to the large family Parmeliaceae. The genus comprises foliose lichens recognised by its short, narrow lobes with flat to slightly convex edges; a smooth, unperforated outer skin (epicortex); shallow, irregular pseudocyphellae—tiny pores—on the upper surface; slender, cylindrical to spindle-shaped asexual spores (conidia); and a white medulla that contains orcinol depsides.

Vahliellaceae (Vahliella) Wedin, P.M. Jørg. & S. Ekman 2010
fungi family in the order peltigerales
Vahliella is a genus of nine species of lichen-forming fungi in the order Peltigerales. It is the only member of Vahliellaceae, a family circumscribed in 2010 to contain this genus. Vahliella was formerly placed in the family Pannariaceae until molecular phylogenetics showed that it did not belong there. Vahliella species are found in the Northern Hemisphere – mainly in North America, but also in Europe and India. Vahliella species somewhat resemble those of the genus Fuscopannaria – in which they were originally classified – but are distinguished from them by the layered apical amyloid
Silobia M. Westb. & Wedin 2010
fungi genus in the acarosporaceae family
Myriospora is a genus of crustose (crust-like), rock-dwelling lichens in the family Acarosporaceae. Its small, often mosaic-cracked thalli bear minute, blackish fruiting discs that each release dozens of colourless spores, a feature alluded to by the genus name—which means "countless spores". Following a 2024 transfer of Acarospora molybdina into the group, around thirteen species are accepted; the type species, M. smaragdula, is a common emerald-tinged "rock scale" on sun-exposed stone across the Holarctic realm. The genus was proposed in 1853 as a segregate of Acarospora but the original

Bunodophoron pinnatum Wedin 2011
fungi species in the sphaerophoraceae family
Bunodophoron pinnatum is a species of lichen in the family Sphaerophoraceae. Found in the Northern Province of Papua New Guinea, it was described as new to science in 2011 by lichenologist Mats Wedin. Its distinct elongated thallus and small brown ascospores set it apart from other similar lichen species.

Sagiolechiaceae Baloch, Lücking, Lumbsch & Wedin 2010
fungi family in the order ostropales
Sagiolechiaceae is a small family of lichen-forming fungi in the order Ostropales. It contains two genera, Rhexophiale, and Sagiolechia, the type genus. Some Sagiolechiaceae species form crustose lichens with Trentepohlia-like photobiont partners (a genus of green algae); other do not form a thallus and are lichenicolous (i.e., they grow on other lichens). Asci are eight-spored with colourless ascospores that have transverse septa or are muriform (i.e. divided into chambers by both transverse and longitudinal septa). The genera Sagiolechia and Rhexophiale mainly differ from each other in how
Placomaronea kaernefeltii M. Westb., Frödén & Wedin 2009
fungi species in the candelariaceae family
Placomaronea kaernefeltii is a rare species of saxicolous (rock-dwelling) lichen in the family Candelariaceae. Found in South America, it was formally described as a new species in 2009 by lichenologists Martin Westberg, Patrik Frödén, and Mats Wedin. The type specimen was collected by the second author from Arica (Chile), between Socoroma and Putre, at an altitude of 3,750 m (12,300 ft), where it was found growing along cracks and pits on a siliceous boulder in a dry mountain slope. The lichen is only known to occur at its type locality, although the authors suggest a wider distribution is
