Amanita sinicoflava (Mandarin Yellow Ringless Amanita) Tulloss 1988
fungi species in the amanitaceae family
Amanita sinicoflava, the mandarin yellow ringless amanita, is an edible species of fungus in the large genus Amanita. Fruitbodies have yellow-olivaceous or olive-tan caps that measure 2.5–7 centimetres (1–3 inches) in diameter. There are grooves on the cap margin that extend about 40% of the distance from the margin to the apex. The spores are spherical or nearly so, typically measuring 9.1 to 12.2 micrometres (0.36 to 0.48 mils) by 8.4 to 11.5 μm (0.33 to 0.45 mils). The white stipe is ornamented with slightly darker fibrils, and there are sac-like remnants of the volva at the stipe base.
Amanita arocheae (Latin American Death Cap) Tulloss, Ovrebo & Halling 1992
toxic fungi species in the amanitaceae family
Amanita arocheae, also known as the Latin American death cap, is a mushroom of the large genus Amanita, which occurs in Colombia, Central America and South America. Deadly poisonous, it is a member of Amanita sect. Phalloideae and related to the death cap, A. phalloides.
Amanita chepangiana (Chepang Slender Caesar) Tulloss & Bhandary 1992
edible fungi species in the amanitaceae family
Amanita chepangiana, commonly known as the Chepang slender Caesar, is a species of agaric fungus in the family Amanitaceae native to China and southern Asia. In parts of Yunnan, China, the species is traditionally consumed. However, toxicity analysis found out at least one type of amatoxin and phallotoxin each within the species. Since it is difficult to distinguish from other lethal species, human consumption is generally not recommended.
Amanita aprica (Sunshine Amanita) J. Lindgr. & Tulloss 2005
fungi species in the amanitaceae family
Amanita aprica, also known as the sunshine amanita, is a toxic species of fungus in the family Amanitaceae. The species has a yellow to orange cap with warty remnants of the whitish universal veil. The gills are pale, as is the stipe, which may be wider at the base. A skirt-like ring may be present, especially on younger specimens. Described as new to science in 2005, the species is found in the Pacific Northwest region of North America, where it grows in a mycorrhizal association with Douglas-fir and pines.
