Serge Audet

Laeticutis cristata is a species of fungus in the family Albatrellaceae. It is found in Asia, Europe, and North America, where it grows singly or in fused clumps on the ground in deciduous and coniferous forests. Fruit bodies contain cristatic acid, a benzoic acid derivative that has cytotoxic activity and antibiotic activity against Bacillus species in laboratory tests. Another compound known only from the fungus, cristatomentin, is a green pigment with a meroterpene chemical structure.

Xanthoporus is a genus of fungi, belonging to the family Steccherinaceae. The genus was described in 2010 by Audet. The genus has cosmopolitan distribution. Species: Xanthoporus syringae

Neoantrodia serialiformis is a species of polypore fungus in the family Fomitopsidaceae. The fungus is resupinate, consisting of a fertile spore-bearing pore surface lying flat on the underside of decaying wood, although one or more fan-shaped overlapping caps may also be formed. Although quite common in the eastern United States, it was not recognized as a distinct species until 2009, owing to its resemblance to the closely related Neoantrodia serialis. Differences in ecology, spore size, and DNA sequences distinguish the two lookalikes.

Polypus is a fungal genus of uncertain familial placement in the order Russulales. A monotypic genus, it contains the single species Polypus dispansus, originally described by Curtis Gates Lloyd in 1912 as a species of Polyporus. Polypus was circumscribed by Serge Audet in 2010.
