Welsh-born canadian mycologist (1918–2019).

Stanley John Hughes (1918–2019) was a Canadian scientist who was known his work in the field of mycology for developing and introducing a precise and meticulous system for classifying fungi that is still used today. A naturalized Canadian, he was a federal research scientist for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada at what is today the Ottawa Research and Development Centre. Taeniolella S. Hughes 1958
fungi genus in the mytilinidiaceae family
Taeniolella is a genus of asexual fungi hyphomycetes in the family Mytilinidiaceae. Some of the species are lichenicolous (lichen-dwelling), others are saprophytic, while others are endophytic. The genus was circumscribed in 1958 by Canadian mycologist Stanley John Hughes, with Taeniolella exilis as the type species. Major revisions of the lichenicolous species in the genus were published in 2016 and 2018.
Meliolinaceae S. Hughes 1993
fungi family in the class dothideomycetes
The Meliolinaceae are a family of fungi with an uncertain taxonomic placement in the class Dothideomycetes.
