Xylaria longipes (Dead Moll's Fingers) Nitschke 1867
fungi species in the xylariaceae family
Xylaria longipes, commonly known as dead moll's fingers, is a species of fungus in the family Xylariaceae.
Pleosporaceae (Zďovkovité) Nitschke 1869
fungi family in the order pleosporales
Pleosporaceae is a family of sac fungi. They are pathogenic to humans or saprobic on woody and dead herbaceous stems or leaves. They are generally anamorphic species (having an asexual reproductive stage). The type species is Stemphylium botryosum Wallr. They have a cosmopolitan distribution worldwide.
Diaporthe Nitschke 1867
fungi genus in the diaporthaceae family
Diaporthe is a genus of endophytic filamentous fungal plant pathogens. Diaporthe species have been shown to transform the infection-inhibiting factors (+)-catechin and (−)-epicatechin into the 3,4-cis-dihydroxyflavan derivatives. Some species, like Diaporthe toxica, produce secondary metabolites that result in toxicoses of animals such as lupinosis of sheep.
Diatrypaceae Nitschke 1867
fungi family in the order xylariales
The Diatrypaceae are a family of fungi in the order Xylariales. According to a 2008 estimate, the family has 13 genera and 229 species.
Anthostoma Nitschke 1867
fungi genus in the diatrypaceae family
Anthostoma is a genus of fungi in the family Diatrypaceae.
Massariaceae Nitschke 1869
fungi family in the order pleosporales
The Massariaceae are a family of fungi in the order Pleosporales. It contains 3 genera and 33 species. Taxa in the family have a cosmopolitan distribution, but are better known in more temperate zones. Although the family is poorly known, it has been suggested that they are saprobic in wood and bark, with a few species being weak pathogens.
Diaporthe eres Nitschke 1870
fungi species in the diaporthaceae family
Diaporthe eres is a fungal plant pathogen, which is the type species of genus ''Diaporthe''. It causes canker disease in a wide variety of hosts. This species has a long history, having been described many times under various synonyms, for instance, the fungus was illustrated by James Sowerby in 1803 under the name Sphaeria ciliaris, attributed to Bulliard. The name D. eres has been proposed for conservation in order to avoid bothersome name changes due to priority.
