Hygrocybe chlorophana (Golden Waxcap) (Fr.) Wünsche 1877
fungi species in the hygrophoraceae family
Hygrocybe chlorophana is a species of agaric (gilled mushroom) in the family Hygrophoraceae. It has been given the recommended English name of golden waxcap in the UK. The species has a largely north temperate distribution, occurring in grassland in Europe and in woodland in North America and northern Asia; it has also been reported from mountainous areas of southern Australia. It typically produces basidiocarps (fruit bodies) in the autumn. In a few European countries, H. chlorophana is of conservation concern, appearing on national red lists of threatened fungi.
Peziza domiciliana (Home Cup) Cooke 1877
fungi species in the pezizaceae family
Peziza domiciliana, commonly known as the domicile cup fungus, is a species of fungus in the genus Peziza, family Pezizaceae. Described by English mycologist Mordecai Cubitt Cooke, the fungus grows on rotten wood, drywall/plasterboard, and plaster in homes, damp cellars, and basements. It is known from Eurasia, North America, and Antarctica.
Entomophthoraceae Nowak. 1877
fungi family in the order entomophthorales
Entomophthoraceae is a family of fungi in the order Entomophthorales. This has been supported by molecular phylogenetic analysis (Gryganskyi et al. 2012). Most species in the family are obligately entomopathogenic. There are two subfamilies, Erynioideae and Entomophthoroideae, which were proposed in 2005.
Gibberella Sacc. 1877
fungi genus in the nectriaceae family
Gibberella is a genus of fungi in the family Nectriaceae. In 1926, Japanese scientists observed that rice plants infected with Gibberella had abnormally long stems ("foolish seedling disease"). A substance, gibberellin, was derived from this fungus. Gibberellin is a plant hormone that promotes cell elongation, flower formation, and seedling growth.
Aspergillus ochraceus G. Wilh. 1877
fungi species in the aspergillaceae family
Aspergillus ochraceus is a mold species in the genus Aspergillus known to produce the toxin ochratoxin A, one of the most abundant food-contaminating mycotoxins, and citrinin. It also produces the dihydroisocoumarin mellein. It is a filamentous fungus in nature and has characteristic biseriate conidiophores. Traditionally a soil fungus, has now began to adapt to varied ecological niches, like agricultural commodities, farmed animal and marine species. In humans and animals the consumption of this fungus produces chronic neurotoxic, immunosuppressive, genotoxic, carcinogenic and teratogenic
Puccinia poarum (Coltsfoot Gall Rust) Nielsen 1877
fungi species in the pucciniaceae family
Puccinia poarum, a species of fungus, known as the coltsfoot gall rust, or meadow grass rust, is a plant pathogen. This fungal parasite forms a yellow to orange gall, 1–2 cm in diameter, on the underside of leaves of coltsfoot (Tussilago farfara). It also infects but does not gall grasses of the family Poaceae. P. poarum is a genetically diverse species that has been reported on at least seventy plant hosts. It was originally found on Poa fertilis and Poa nemoralis in Denmark in 1877.
Didymiaceae (Didymiidae) Rostaf. ex Cooke 1877
fungi family in the order physarales
Didymiaceae is a family of plasmodial slime molds in the order Physarales.
Crepidotus cesatii (Roundspored Oysterling) (Rabenh.) Sacc. 1877
fungi species in the crepidotaceae family
Crepidotus cesatii, commonly known as the roundspored oysterling, is a species of saprophytic fungus in the family Crepidotaceae with a stipeless sessile cap. It is often found on woody and herbaceous plant debris from many different hosts including conifers, appearing from late summer to winter usually in small scattered groups. Often confused with Crepidotus variabilis, it can be distinguished by its different spores.
Blastocladia Reinsch 1877
fungi genus in the blastocladiaceae family
Blastocladia is a genus of aquatic fungi.
Puccinia dioicae Magnus 1877
fungi species in the pucciniaceae family
Puccinia dioicae is a plant pathogen that causes rust on goldenrod. It is common in Iceland, where it infects Taraxacum species and Carex capillaris. Pycniospores and aeciospores are found on Taraxacum sp., and uredospores and teliospores are found on Carex capillaris.

Plasmodiophora brassicae (Clubroot) Woronin 1877
fungi species in the plasmodiophoridae family
Plasmodiophora brassicae is a soilborne organism that is best known for its high economic impact on Brassica oil and vegetable crops. It infects 30 different cruciferous plants, which consists of up to 16 crop species, 9 ornamentals, and 5 weeds. The fungus-like organisms on those plants causes a disease referred to as clubroot.
Plasmodiophora Woronin 1877
fungi genus in the plasmodiophoridae family
Plasmodiophora is a genus in class Phytomyxea. It includes the species Plasmodiophora brassicae, which causes the disease cabbage clubroot.
Coccomyces dentatus (Map Fungus) (J.C. Schmidt & Kunze) Sacc. 1877
fungi species in the rhytismataceae family
Coccomyces dentatus is a species of fungus in the family Rhytismataceae. A widespread species, particularly in temperate areas, it colonizes the dead fallen leaves of vascular plants, particularly oak and chestnut. The fungus apothecia, which form in the epidermal layer of the leaf host, resemble dark hexagonal spots scattered on a multi-colored mosaic pattern bounded by thin black lines. When mature, the apothecia open by triangular flaps to release spores. The anamorph form of C. dentatus is Tricladiopsis flagelliformis. Lookalike species can be distinguished by the shape of the apothecia,
