Ekebergia capensis is a tree in the family Meliaceae. It is commonly known as the Cape ash. Its range extends from the Eastern Cape of South Africa to Sudan and Ethiopia. It has been introduced onto Ascension Island.

Lepidium oleraceum is a herb in the family Brassicaceae, endemic to New Zealand. Its English common name is Cook's scurvy grass; Māori names include nau, ngau, naunau and heketara. Its specific epithet oleraceum means "vegetable/herbal" in Latin and is a form of holeraceus (oleraceus).

Ekebergia is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Meliaceae. They are dioecious trees or shrubs, with odd-pinnate leaves. Its native range is tropical and southern Africa. Its genus name of Ekebergia is in honour of Carl Gustaf Ekeberg (1716–1784), Swedish physician, chemist and explorer. It was published and described in Kongl. Vetensk. Acad. Handl. Vol.1779 on page 282 in 1779. Known species: Ekebergia benguelensis Welw. ex C.DC. Ekebergia capensis Sparrm. Ekebergia pterophylla (C.DC.) Hofmeyr Ekebergia pumila I.M.Johnst.

Sarcophyte is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Balanophoraceae. Its native range is Ethiopia to Southern Africa.

Acacia simplex is a perennial climbing tree native to islands in the western part of the Pacific Ocean as far east as Savaiʻi. It is also found in Argentina. This tree grows up to 12 m in height. There is no common English name, but it is called tatakia in Fiji, tatagia in Samoa, tātāngia in Tonga and Martaoui in New-Caledonia
