Capsicum chacoense is a species of the genus Capsicum native to South America. While it is rarely cultivated by humans, it, like domesticated Capsicum species, produces edible fruit.

Capsicum eximium is a member of the genus Capsicum, and native to the New World, specifically the Andean region of South America. It is one of the "purple-flowered" Capsicums along with Capsicum cardenasii and Capsicum pubescens. Like most other chili peppers, it is both pungent and self-compatible. It is a member of the Pubescens complex, a natural group of highly related Capsicums. Natural hybrids between C. pubescens as well as C. tovarii have been found, further supporting the relationship of these species.

Schultesianthus is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Solanaceae. Its native range is from southern Mexico down to Venezuela and Peru. It is also found in Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras and Panamá. The genus Schultesianthus was erected in 1977 by the Argentine botanist Armando Theodoro Hunziker and is named in honour of the American biologist Richard Evans Schultes.

Hawkesiophyton is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Solanaceae. It is also in Solanoideae subfamily, Tribe Solandreae Miers and also Subtribe Juanulloinae. Its native range is southern Tropical America. It is found in the countries of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, Panamá, Peru and Venezuela. The genus name of Hawkesiophyton is in honour of Jack Hawkes (1915–2007), a British botanist, Mason Professor of Botany at the University of Birmingham.
