Arthur Disbrowe Cotton, (15 January 1879 – 27 December 1962) was an English plant pathologist, mycologist, phycologist, and botanist. The standard author abbreviation Cotton is used to indicate this person as the author when citing a botanical name. A.D. Cotton was born in London and educated at King's College School and the Royal College of Science, where he completed a degree in botany in 1901.
