Lecythis pisonis, the cream nut or monkey pot, is a tropical tree in the Brazil nut family Lecythidaceae. It is known in its native tropical America as sapucaia or castanha-de-sapucaia. The fruit is shaped like a cooking pot and contains edible seeds.

Lecythis zabucajo, the sapucaia or paradise nut, is a large nut-producing tree occurring in the Guianas, Suriname, Venezuela, Ecuador, Honduras and Brazil, and which distribution range is much the same as that of the greater spear-nosed bat (Phyllostomus hastatus). Although not singling out Lecythis zabucajo, Jacques Huber noted in 1909 that fruit bats played the most important role in seed dispersal in Amazonian forests. The quality of its nuts led to the species' being introduced to numerous tropical countries, notably Trinidad, where it has flourished. The nuts are a valuable food resource

Waimiria is a genus of flowering plants in the family Lecythidaceae. It includes a single species, Waimiria amazoniciformis, a tree endemic to northern Brazil, where it grows in terre firme Amazon rainforest around Manaus. The species was first described as Eschweilera amazoniciformis by Scott Alan Mori in 1990. A phylogenetic study by Vargas et al. published in 2024 concluded that Eschweilera was polyphyletic, and that E. amazoniciformis was an isolated sister lineage most closely related to the genera Corythophora and Imbiriba. The authors placed it in the new monotypic genus Waimiria as

Imbiriba is a genus of flowering plants in the family Lecythidaceae. It includes seven species native to northern, central, and eastern Brazil. The species in Imbiriba constitute the former Tetrapetala section of genus Eschweilera. Vargas et al. published a phylogenetic study in 2024 which concluded that Eschweilera was polyphyletic, and the authors proposed new or revived genera, including Imbiriba, for species in the paraphyletic sections of Eschweilera.

Guaiania is a genus of flowering plants in the family Lecythidaceae. It includes five species native to northern and northeastern Brazil, the Guianas, and Venezuela. The species in Guaiania constitute the former Corrugata clade of genus Lecythis. Vargas et al. published a phylogenetic study in 2024 which concluded that Lecythis was polyphyletic, and the authors proposed new or revived genera, including Guaiania, for the paraphyletic sections of Lecythis.

Imbiriba compressa is a species of flowering plant in the family Lecythidaceae. It is a tree endemic to southeastern Brazil. It grows in moist montane forest in the coastal Serra do Mar of Rio de Janeiro and Espiritu Santo states. It is threatened by habitat loss.
