Copernicia baileyana is a species of flowering plant in the palm family Arecaceae. It is sometimes referred to by the common name yarey and it is endemic to eastern and central Cuba. Like other members of this genus, C. baileyana is a fan palm. Trees are 10 to 20 metres tall with stems 40 (to 60) centimetres in diameter and are sometimes swollen. The fruit is black, 1.8 to 2.3 centimetres long and 1.8 to 2 cm in diameter. The leaves are used for weaving hats, baskets and other items. They are also used for thatch.

Melocactus matanzanus, common name dwarf Turk's-cap cactus or Turk's-cap cactus, is a cactus in the family Cactaceae. The specific epithet matanzanus is derived from the Cuban province of Matanzas.

Roystonea stellata is an extinct species of palm endemic to Yagruma terrace in the Maisí region of Guantánamo Province in eastern Cuba. The species is known from only a single collection made by French-born botanist Frère León in 1939.

It grows up to 8 meters (26 ft) tall, and is found in open terrain less than 500 meters (1,600 ft) above sea level in areas with soils derived from limestone. Two subspecies are recognised: Coccothrinax salvatoris subsp. loricata (León) Borhidi & O.Muñiz Coccothrinax salvatoris subsp. salvatoris.

Its name suggests that it has small coconut-like fruit (Greek coccos:berry and thrinax:trident or winnowing fork) while clarensis comes from Santa Clara valley in Cuba where the species are found. Two subspecies are recognised: Coccothrinax clarensis subsp. brevifolia (León) Borhidi & O.Muñiz Coccothrinax clarensis subsp. clarensis Henderson and colleagues (1995) considered C. clarensis subsp. clarensis to be a synonym of Coccothrinax gundlachii and C. clarensis subsp.

Coccothrinax hioramii is a species of flowering plant in the palm family, Arecaceae. It is endemic to eastern Cuba, in open sandy coastal areas. Like other members of the genus, C. hioramii is a fan palm. Trees are single-stemmed, between 6 and 12 metres tall with stems 7 to 15 centimetres in diameter. The fruit is black, 0.9–1.1 cm in diameter. Henderson and colleagues spelled the name C. hiorami.

Coccothrinax acunana is a species of flowering plant in the family Arecaceae. It is sometimes referred to by the common name sierra palm, and is endemic to Pico Turquino in Cuba. It grows at high elevations (above 900 m), reportedly higher than any other Cuban palm. Like other members of the genus, C. acunana is a fan palm. Andrew Henderson and colleagues (1995) considered C. acunana to be a synonym of Coccothrinax miraguama.
