Hans Peter Nooteboom

Magnolia sirindhorniae is a plant species in the genus Magnolia, family Magnoliaceae, described by Hans Peter Nooteboom and Piya Chalermglin. It is a magnolia species endemic to swamp forest of central Thailand in Tha Luang District, Lopburi Province. It was named in honor of Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

Magnolia sinica is a species of flowering plant in the family Magnoliaceae, native to southeast Yunnan Province, China. In China it is known by common name huagaimu and distributes in south subtropical monsoon broadleaved evergreen forests at altitudes between 1339 and 1707m. It is categorized as Critically Endangered on the IUCN Red List. As a plant species with extremely small populations (PSESP) there were an estimated 50 wild individuals remaining, and has been targeted as one of the 20 species approved by the Yunnan government for urgent rescue action before 2015.

Magnolia thailandica is a plant species in the Kmeria section of the genus Magnolia found in Thailand. (+)-Syringaresinol, a lignan, can be found in M. thailandica.

Magnolia laevifolia is a species of flowering plant in the family Magnoliaceae, native to south-central China. Hardy to USDA zone 8, it easily tolerates pruning, and can be formed into topiaries, hedges and screens. The Royal Horticultural Society recommends the 'Gail's Favourite' cultivar for small gardens.

Magnolia yunnanensis is a species of tree in the family Magnoliaceae, native to evergreen broad-leaved forests in eastern Asia, southern China and Indochina. Richard Figlar notes that Magnolia yunnanensis is "often cultivated as street trees in their native Yunnan because of their 'Gallery Pear-type' growth habit and their exceptionally glossy evergreen foliage". He also notes that "their flowers are not as profuse and are less showy than those of other magnolia species".

Ailanthus fordii, otherwise known as green ailanthus or evergreen ailanthus, is an evergreen tree in the family Simaroubaceae. It is native to the low evergreen forests of Hong Kong.
