Pinus luchuensis (Luchu Pine) Mayr 1894
medicinal plant species in the pinaceae family
Pinus luchuensis, commonly called Luchu pine, Ryukyu pine, or Okinawa pine, is a species of conifer in the family Pinaceae endemic to, and locally abundant in the Ryukyu Islands of Japan. It was once threatened by habitat loss in the wild, where it can be found growing in small stands near windy ocean shores. Having been harvested widely since the Second World War, the remaining stands are no longer commercially viable, except when cultivated for ornamental use.
Ulmus laciniata (Manchurian Elm) Mayr 1895
medicinal plant species in the ulmaceae family
Ulmus laciniata (Trautv.) Mayr, known variously as the Manchurian, cut-leaf, or lobed elm, is a deciduous tree native to the humid ravine forests of Japan, Korea, northern China, eastern Siberia and Sakhalin, growing alongside Cercidiphyllum japonicum, Aesculus turbinata, and Pterocarya rhoifolia, at elevations of 700–2200 m, though sometimes lower in more northern latitudes, notably in Hokkaido.
Pseudotsuga macrocarpa (Bigcone Douglas-fir) (Vasey) Mayr 1889
plant species in the pinaceae family
Pseudotsuga macrocarpa, commonly called the bigcone spruce or bigcone Douglas-fir, is an evergreen conifer native to the mountains of southern California. It is notable for having the largest (by far) cones in the genus Pseudotsuga, hence the name. The tree occurs from the San Rafael Mountains in central Santa Barbara County and the Tehachapi Mountains of southwestern Kern County, south through the Transverse Ranges, to the Cuyamaca Mountains in San Diego County. The tree is shade-tolerant and prefers to grow on slopes.

Larix gmelinii var. principisrupprechtii (Prince Rupprecht Larch) (Mayr) Pilg. 1926
plant variety in the pinaceae family
Larix gmelinii var. principis-rupprechtii, synonym Larix principis-rupprechtii, Prince Rupprecht's larch, is a variety of conifer in the larch genus Larix. It is native to altitudes of 1400–2800 m in the Wutai Shan mountains west of Beijing in the northern Chinese provinces of Shanxi and Hebei, separated from typical L. gmelinii by about 1000 km. It is named after Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria, who funded Mayr's work. It is a tree growing to 30–35 m tall, with grey-brown bark. Like other larches, the leaves are deciduous; they are up to 3.5 cm long. The cones are ovoid, 2–4 cm long, with 26–45
