Sphagneticola trilobata, commonly known as the Bay Biscayne creeping-oxeye, marigold Singapore daisy, creeping-oxeye, trailing daisy, and wedelia, is a plant in the tribe Heliantheae of the family Asteraceae. It is native to Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, but now grows throughout the Neotropics. It is widely cultivated as an ornamental groundcover.

Tolerant to drought, humidity and barren environment, S. calendulacea is a common herbaceous plant in China and Taiwan. S. calendulacea produces wedelolactone and demethylwedelolactone. In Vietnam, the leaves of the plant is sometimes used to treat infant eczema although scientific evidence is not clear. Huberopappus is a monotypic genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Asteraceae. It only contains one species, Huberopappus maigualidae. It is native to Venezuela. The genus name of Huberopappus is in honour of Otto Huber (b. 1944), an Italian ecologist known for his work on the botany, phytogeography and conservation of the neotropics. The Latin specific epithet of maigualidae refers to Sierra de Maigualida in Guiana Shield, southern Venezuela. Both species and genus were first described and published in 1992.

Electranthera mutica is a species of flowering plant in the family Asteraceae. It is a shrub or small tree, 0.3 to 5 m tall, which is native to the mountains of El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and tropical Mexico. It grows in montane forests, including oak forests, pine–oak forests, and thickets, and on dry hillsides, roadsides, and along streams from (400) 700 to 2800 meters elevation. It mostly flowers from June to January.

Electranthera cuneifolia is a shrubby flowering plant native to the states of Durango, Nayarit, and Jalisco in west-central Mexico. It grows in oak forests in the southern Sierra Madre Occidental from 1500 to 1800 meters elevation. The species was first described as Coreopsis cuneifolia by Jesse More Greenman in 1904. Ortizacalia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae. It includes a single species, Ortizacalia austin-smithii, a climbing shrub or liana endemic to Costa Rica. The species was first described as Senecio austin-smithii in 1940 by Paul Carpenter Standley. In 2012 John Francis Pruski placed it in the newly-described monotypic genus Ortizacalia as O. austin-smithii.
