Jules Poisson

Agave weberi, known as maguey liso in Spanish and as Weber's agave in English, is a succulent perennial plant in the family Asparagaceae, subfamily Agavoideae. Under the synonym Agave neglecta, it is known as wild century plant and Small's agave—the latter in honor of its discoverer in Florida, John Kunkel Small. Naturalized populations in Florida were considered to be a separate species but are now treated as synonymous with A. weberi.

Hennecartia is a monotypic genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Monimiaceae. The only species is Hennecartia omphalandra. It is native to southern Brazil, north-eastern Argentina and Paraguay. The genus name of Hennecartia is in honour of Jules-François Hennecart (1797–1888), French politician and banker who acquired Victor Jacquemont's herbarium. The Latin specific epithet of omphalandra refers to the Ancient Greek word ὀμφᾰλός (omphalós) which means "navel". Hennecartia omphalandra was first described and published in Bull. Soc. Bot.
