Olga Korhoven Lakela (March 11, 1890 – May 17, 1980) was a Finnish-American botanist and educator noted for identifying many species in the genera Heuchera and Tiarella. She emigrated to the United States from Finland in 1906. Lakela received her doctorate in botany from the University of Minnesota in 1932. Lakela founded the herbarium at the University of Minnesota Duluth, which is named after her, and worked there until 1935. After her retirement from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 1958, she was the curator of the University of South Florida's herbarium from 1960 until her retirement

Dicerandra immaculata is a rare species of flowering plant in the mint family known by the common names Lakela's mint, Olga's mint, and spotless balm. It is endemic to Florida in the United States, where it is known only from Indian River and St. Lucie counties. There are seven occurrences of the plant, two of which are scheduled for destruction as the land is cleared for development. The plant was federally listed as an endangered species in 1985. The specific epithet wherryi recognizes Edgar Wherry, the botanist who collected some of the first specimens in the early 1930s. Heuchera caroliniana, the Carolina alumroot, is a species of flowering plant in the family Saxifragaceae, native to the US states of Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Split off from Heuchera americana, which it closely resembles, it is found the northwestern and west-central Piedmont, where H. americana is largely absent. It grows in rich upland woods on base-saturated substrates, basic dikes, and basic rock outcroppings.
