Cupressus duclouxiana, known commonly as the Chinese cypress or Yunnan cypress, is a species of conifer in the cypress family, Cupressaceae. It is endemic to China, where it is known from Yunnan and Sichuan. It grows in deep river gorges. Its habitat is mountain forest where it occurs alongside the Sikang pine (Pinus densata) and various oaks, chinquapins, and chestnuts. Most old-growth stands of this tree have been cut down, and it is still threatened by logging in many areas. In May 2023, a Yunnan cypress was identified as the tallest tree in Asia at 102.3 meters.

Quercus thorelii is an Asian species of tree in the beech family Fagaceae. The species is named after the French botanist Clovis Thorel. It has been found in Indochina (Laos, Vietnam) and in southern China (Guangxi, Yunnan). It is placed in subgenus Cerris, section Cyclobalanopsis, the ring-cupped oaks. Quercus thorelii is a tree up to 30 m. tall. Twigs are covered with star-shaped hairs. Leaves can be as much as 170 mm long. The acorn is oblate, 10-15 × 25-30 mm, light brown, densely tomentose, apex depressed, with a scar that is approx. 20 mm in diameter.

Quercus austrocochinchinensis is an uncommon species of tree in the beech family Fagaceae. It has been found in Vietnam and Thailand as well as Yunnan Province in southern China. It is placed in subgenus Cerris, section Cyclobalanopsis. Quercus austrocochinchinensis is a tree up to 15 m. tall, with brown twigs and leaves as much as 200 mm long. The acorn is oblate, 11-14 × 13-18 mm, angular, yellowish-brown tomentose, with rounded apex; the scar is approx. 12 mm in diameter.

Quercus chevalieri is an uncommon species of tree in the beech family Fagaceae. It has been found in Vietnam and also in southern China, in the Provinces of Guangdong, Guangxi, and Yunnan. It is placed in subgenus Cerris, section Cyclobalanopsis. Quercus chevalieri is a tree up to 20 m. tall with leaves as much as 110 mm long. The acorn is ovoid to oblong-ellipsoid, 10-15 (sometimes 20) × 6-8 (sometimes 15) mm, glabrous; the scar is approx. 5 mm in diameter. Some authors have misapplied this name to another plant, Cyclobalanopsis augustinii var. nigrinux (H.H. Hu) M. Deng & Z.K. Zhou.

Quercus poilanei is an Asian species of tree in the family Fagaceae. It has been found in northern Indochina (Thailand and Vietnam) and also in the Province of Guangxi in southern China. It is placed in subgenus Cerris, section Cyclobalanopsis. Quercus poilanei is a tree up to 16 m. tall. Twigs are orange-brown with a felty coating of hairs. Leaves can be as much as 80 mm long. The acorn is ovoid-ellipsoid or globose, 15-20 × 13–15 mm, with a scar 5–7 mm in diameter.

Quercus setulosa is the accepted name of an oak species in genus Quercus of the family Fagaceae. It is now placed in section Ilex of subgenus Cerris.

Quercus langbianensis is an uncommon oak tree species in the family Fagaceae. It is placed in subgenus Cerris, section Cyclobalanopsis, the ring-cupped oaks. These differ from other Quercus groups in that they have acorns with distinctive cups: usually with substantial rings, made-up of scales that have grown together. This species can be found in sub-tropical and tropical seasonal forests of Vietnam.

Quercus arbutifolia, synonym Quercus obovatifolia, is a species of oak in the beech family Fagaceae, native to southeast China and Vietnam. It is placed in Quercus sect. Cyclobalanopsis, the ring-cupped oaks. There are no known subspecies. In Vietnam it may be called sồi lá trôn. It is reported that there are five populations of Quercus arbutifolia in China. But several populations have experienced severe habitat degradation. According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List Categories & Criteria (IUCN 2011), this species qualifies as vulnerable. Both in situ

Quercus quangtriensis is a tree species in the beech family Fagaceae; there are no known subspecies. It is placed in subgenus Cerris, section Cyclobalanopsis. This oak tree grows up to 25 m tall and has been recorded from Vietnam, where it may be called sồi Quảng Trị (after the name of that Province).
