Kalanchoe daigremontiana, formerly known as Bryophyllum daigremontianum and commonly called mother of thousands, alligator plant or Mexican hat plant, is a succulent plant native to Madagascar. Like other members of Bryophyllum (now included in the genus Kalanchoe), it can propagate vegetatively from plantlets that develop on its leaf margins, as well as through upshoots from lateral roots, and seeds. All parts of this species contain a very toxic steroid known as daigremontianin. It is often confused with Kalanchoe laetivirens, Kalanchoe delagoensis and Kalanchoe × houghtonii. The leaves of

It is widely sold as a house or garden plant that has established itself in the wild in some southern parts of the United States of America. The specific epithet fedtschenkoi honors botanist Boris Fedtschenko (1873-1947). Its genome has been sequenced as a model to study CAM metabolism.

plant species in the crassulaceae family
Kalanchoe manginii, beach bells, is a species of flowering plant in the family Crassulaceae, native to Madagascar.
Kalanchoe gastonisbonnieri (Palm Beachbells) Raym.-Hamet & H.Perrier 1912
plant species in the crassulaceae family

They are called "palm beachbells" or "donkey ear plants" as they have leaves resembling the shape of a donkey's ear. K. gastonis-bonnieri have thick green leaves more or less with brownish spots and often form plantlets at leaf tips. It may be confused with K. suarezensis and K. mortagei, whose leaves have no spots.

perennial plant species in the droseraceae family
Drosera aliciae, the Alice sundew, is a carnivorous plant in the family Droseraceae. It is native to the Cape Provinces of South Africa, like Drosera capensis, the cape sundew, and is one of the most common sundews in cultivation.

Kalanchoe luciae Raym.-Hamet 1908
plant species in the crassulaceae family
Kalanchoe luciae, the paddle plant or flapjacks, is a species of flowering plant in the genus Kalanchoe, native to northeast South Africa, Eswatini, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. It has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. K. luciae is often mistaken for a similar but rarely cultivated species, Kalanchoe thyrsiflora. K. luciae has larger, more vibrant leaves and develops white flowers with no noticeable scent, while K. thyrsiflora has fragrant, yellow flowers.
Kalanchoe millotii (Kalanchoe Millottii) Raym.-Hamet & H.Perrier 1912
plant species in the crassulaceae family
Kalanchoe millotii is a succulent plant that is native south-central and southeastern Madagascar. It forms a shrub up to a foot high. The leaf is a hazy green and scalloped, with dense felt covering it. It also features yellow-green blooms in loose clusters. This succulent, like most of its kind, requires porous soil and can only tolerate light frost. The plant is hardy to 2–4 °C (36–39 °F) and needs bright light, or full sun to partial shade.

Kalanchoe beauverdii (Beauverd's Widow's-thrill) Raym.-Hamet 1907
plant species in the crassulaceae family
Kalanchoe beauverdii, or Beauverd's widow's-thrill, is a climbing succulent species of Kalanchoe subg. Bryophyllum native to Madagascar. The species used to include many different forms with great variations. Now the broad-sense K. beauverdii has been treated as a series, Kalanchoe ser. Vilana, which includes four species: K. beauverdii, K. costantinii, K. guignardii, and K. scandens. The narrow-sense K. beauverdii differs from the other species of the series in its petiolate leaves.
