Sagittaria secundifolia, also known as Kral's water plantain or Little River arrowhead is an endangered aquatic plant endemic to banks along the Little River of the U.S. states of Alabama and Georgia.

It is referred to in common usage as cumberland sedge. Carex cumberlandensis was first identified at Mt. Cuba Center. When it was identified, it was initially named Carex digitalis. There are two named varieties: A. longifolia var. longifolia - Only found in Florida and Georgia. A. longifolia var. spatulata - Found from southern Alabama to southern South Carolina. It is unclear if the two varieties should be considered distinct species. This group is in need of further taxonomic study.

Xyris isoetifolia, the quillwort yelloweyed grass, is a plant species native to southern Alabama and to the Florida panhandle, where it is found in coastal plains, Sphagnum bogs, and the edges of sinkholes. Xyris isoetifolia is a perennial herb up to 40 cm (16 inches) tall. Leaves are rather narrow, and twisted, rarely more than 1 mm in width but up to 15 cm (6 inches) long, thus superficially resembling those of Isoetes.
