It is native to the Okanagan Highlands and Kettle River Range in north central Washington state, United States, and south central British Columbia, Canada. Populations are confined to elevations between 800 and 1,500 m (2,600 and 4,900 ft) on south to southwest facing rocky slopes, outcrops, and knolls.
