Dransfieldia is a monotypic genus of flowering plant in the palm family from western New Guinea where the lone species Dransfieldia micrantha grows in dense rain forest. Discovered in 1872, 134 years passed before DNA testing revealed its proper placement. With no close relatives, it is a delicate, pinnate-leaved palm named after John Dransfield, former palm expert at the Kew Royal Botanic Gardens.

It is a palm found only in Solomon Islands, where it grows on outcrops of ultrabasic soil on Choiseul, Santa Isabel, and several other islands, from 100 up to 1,500 metres elevation. It is threatened by habitat loss.

Hydriastele vitiensis is a species of palm endemic to Fiji. It is a tall palm which can grow up to 25 metres (82 ft) high. It is native to the islands of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, where it grows in moist lowland forest from sea level to 600 metres (2,000 ft) elevation, often on ridge tops. On Viti Levu individuals or very small populations grow in the southern highlands across to Nakobalevu. The species is threatened with habitat loss, including from logging and conversion of habitat to plantations. The IUCN Red List assesses the species as Vulnerable.

Saribus brevifolius is a species of palm tree in the genus Saribus, which has only been found in the Kawe and Gag Islands in the archipelago of the Raja Ampat Islands, which lie off the north-west tip of the Bird's Head Peninsula in Indonesia's West Papua province. Roscoea ganeshensis is a perennial herbaceous plant occurring in Ganesh Himal (part of the Himalayas) in central Nepal. Most members of the ginger family (Zingiberaceae), to which it belongs, are tropical, but like other species of Roscoea, R. ganeshensis grows in much colder mountainous regions. It is used as an ornamental garden plant, requiring moisture and shade in the summer.
