Syzygium maire, commonly known as the swamp maire, is an evergreen tree endemic to New Zealand. It is found throughout the North Island, and in the northern half of the South Island. The Māori name for the tree is maire tawake. Swamp maire grows in wetlands, where it develops breathing roots in waterlogged soils, but is also tolerant of reasonably dry situations. Plantago obconica is a species of flowering plant in the family Plantaginaceae that is endemic to the South Island of New Zealand. William Sykes described the species in 1988. It is the smallest Plantago species in New Zealand. Plants of this species of plantain are perennial with a rosette habit, with very narrow, linear, keeled leaves, and fruiting capsules with a 1-cm long funnel-like base.

Crassula tetramera is a herb in the family Crassulaceae. The annual herb has an erect habit and typically grows to a height of 10 centimetres (3.9 in). It is found on upper slopes and summits in the Great Southern, Wheatbelt and Goldfields-Esperance regions of Western Australia where it grows in stony sandy-loam soils over quartzite or granite.
