Euphorbia candelabrum is a succulent species of plant in the family Euphorbiaceae, one of several plants commonly known as candelabra tree. It is endemic to the Horn of Africa and eastern Africa along the East African Rift system. It is known in Ethiopia by its Amharic name, qwolqwal, or its Oromo name, adaamii. It is closely related to three other species of Euphorbia: Euphorbia ingens in the dry regions of southern Africa, Euphorbia conspicua from western Angola, and Euphorbia abyssinica, which is native to countries including Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Somalia. Commelina welwitschii is an herbaceous plant in the dayflower family found in Southern Africa from Zimbabwe to Angola. A phylogenetic study based on the nuclear ribosomal DNA region 5S NTS and the chloroplast region trnL-trnF, two commonly used gene regions for determining relationships, revealed that Commelina welwitschii forms a clade with Commelina purpurea and Commelina fluviatilis. Both of these relatives are African, share an unusual leaf anatomy, and have linear leaves that are often folded. Although it has yellow flowers, this study did not find a close relationship with Commelina

Homozeugos conciliatum is a species of grass in the family Poaceae native to Angola. It is known only from a single location in Huambo Province's central highlands at an elevation of about 1,700 m (5,600 ft). Homozeugos conciliatumis a perennial herb forming clumps, spreading by means of underground rhizomes. Stems can attain a height of up to 100 cm (39 in). It is easily distinguished from the other species in the genus by its short ligules (less than 6 mm (0.24 in) long) and involute leaves.

Ganguelia is a monotypic genus of flowering plants in the family Rubiaceae. The genus contains only one species, viz. Ganguelia gossweileri, which is endemic to Angola. It was established when the species Oxyanthus gossweileri was transferred to a new genus in the tribe Gardenieae.

Carrissoa is a genus of flowering plants in the family Fabaceae. It belongs to the subfamily Faboideae. The genus has a single species, Carrissoa angolensis, a subshrub endemic to Angola. It grows in seasonally-dry tropical open bushland and scrub and along watercourses, and forms woody rootstocks in fire-prone environments. The genus takes its name from Portuguese botanist Luís Wittnich Carrisso.

Aptosimum molle is a flowering plant species in the genus Aptosimum, which is native to dry tropical and Southern Africa. It belongs to the family Scrophulariaceae. While specific characteristics for A. molle are not widely available, it is related to other species in the genus, which include plants with blue or violet trumpet-shaped flowers and leaves that vary in shape.

Aptosimum gossweileri is a species of flowering plant in the family Scrophulariaceae. It is a robust, glandular-pilose undershrub with long, procumbent, many-branched stems and thick, fleshy leaves that have a persistent midrib, which can form a straight, stout spine. The species is found in dry tropical and Southern Africa and is characterized by its axillary flowers that are typically clustered in pairs, with glandular-pubescent, blue to purple corollas.
