Flora of Zambia

Aloe fimbrialis is a succulent plant species from Zambia and possibly Tanzania. A very unusual Aloe as it forms a caudex which can grow to five centimeters in diameter, the leaves grow up to ten centimeters long. The inflorescence can reach 90 centimeters in length and has coral-pink flowers. It usually grows on termite mounds. Aloe fimbrialis is a very rare aloe, first discovered in 1964 and formally described by Susan Carter Holmes in 1996 from a herbarium specimens. Graham Williamson rediscovered the species in 2002 on the border of Zambia and Angola, close to the source of the Zambezi

Brachystegia bakeriana is a species of plant in the family Fabaceae. It is found in Angola and Zambia. It is threatened by habitat loss.

Acalypha dikuluwensis was a 25 centimetres (9.8 in) high tropical flowering plant in the genus Acalypha of the family Euphorbiaceae. The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species declared the plant extinct in 2012. A. dikuluwensis was endemic to copper-rich soils of eastern Katanga Province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and was only found around Dikuluwe. The soils are derived from Katanga Supergroup Upper Cambrian Roan Group rocks. It was restricted to steppic savanna in copper outcrops, which were destroyed by surface mining. No specimens were found after 1959.

Polygala youngii is a plant species in the milkwort family (Polygalaceae). It is native to boggy highlands and grasslands 1,200 to 1,350 metres (3,940 to 4,430 ft) above sea level in Angola and western Zambia. It is a 40 to 60 cm (16 to 24 in)-tall annual herb with very thin stems. It produces linear leaves with needle-like tips which are 10 to 12 centimetres (3.9 to 4.7 in) long and 0.5 centimetres (0.20 in) wide. The flowers it produces may be yellowish, pink, or blue.
