Cryptocarya agathophylla (known sometimes as clove nutmeg) is a member of the laurel family, Lauraceae, and originates in Madagascar. Malagasy names include tavolobelelo, havozo, hazomanitra and tavolomanitra. The former genus name Ravensara is a latinization of the Malagasy word ravintsara.
