Myriopteris cucullans is a small to medium-sized fern of Mexico and Guatemala. The leaf is three times divided into lobed segments, covered with orange-tan hairs and some scales on the underside. One of the cheilanthoid lip ferns, it was usually classified in the genus Cheilanthes as Cheilanthes cucullans until 2013, when the genus Myriopteris was again recognized as separate from Cheilanthes.
