Victoria boliviana, or the Bolivian waterlily is a species of aquatic plant within the genus Victoria in the family Nymphaeaceae. It is the newest described species of the genus and its largest member in size and was officially identified in 2022. In January 2023, the species was awarded three Guinness World Record titles for world's largest waterlily species, world's largest waterlily leaf and world's largest undivided leaf, with the latter two specifically recognising a specimen grown in 2012 at La Rinconada Gardens in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

Uvariopsis dicaprio is a species of tropical evergreen tree in the genus Uvariopsis. It is endemic to the Ebo Forest, in the Littoral Region of Cameroon. It was the first new plant species described in 2022, and was named after American actor Leonardo DiCaprio by botanists Martin Cheek and George Gosline, from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. U. dicaprio is classified as Critically Endangered in the IUCN Red List.

Nepenthes pudica is a tropical pitcher plant known from a handful of localities in the Mentarang Hulu district of North Kalimantan, Borneo, where it occurs at 1100–1300 m above sea level. It is notable for producing achlorophyllous subterranean stems bearing functional underground pitchers; very few pitchers are produced above ground. Nepenthes pudica may have evolved its underground pitchers due to the seasonally dry ridgetops it inhabits. Plants of this forget-me-not are perennial with bracteate and prostrate inflorescences, and small, white corollas with partly exserted stamens.

Heidi Meudt, Jessica Prebble and Brian Rance described M. ultramafica in 2022. Plants of this forget-me-not are perennial with bracteate and prostrate to ascending inflorescences, and small, white corollas with partly exserted stamens. This species is Naturally Uncommon and only found on ultramafic substrates.

Betula buggsii is a species of broadleaved tree that grows in the Qinling–Daba Mountains in China. Its Chinese name is “秦巴桦” (qín bā huà). The species was discovered by Dr Nian Wang of Shandong Agricultural University in 2021, as he sampled Chinese birch trees for a population genetic analysis. Initially he considered the trees to be Betula utilis ssp. albosinensis but genetic analysis showed the trees to be very different, and in fact, less closely related to Betula utilis ssp. albosinensis than several other birch species. Skogea is a monotypic genus of perennial herbs in the family Gesneriaceae. The sole species in the genus is Skogea enpingensis, which is endemic to the lowlands of Enping county in Guangdong Province of southeastern China. The species was first described as Actinostephanus enpingensis in 2022, and placed in the newly-described monotypic genus Actinostephanus. The genus name comes from "Actino-" from Greek ἀκτῑ́ς (aktῑ́s), which means ray or beam; and "-stephanus" from the Greek Στέφανος (Stéphanos) which means crown, which is related to ᾰ̓́νθoς (ánthos), meaning flower, blossom, or bloom.

Strombocarpa abbreviata, commonly known as the algarrobillo espinoso, is a species of flowering plant in the pea family, Fabaceae. It was previously known as Prosopis abbreviata. The species is endemic to Argentina and found in semi-arid and arid areas scrubland. It is threatened by habitat loss.

Solanum scalarium, known as the Garrarnawun bush tomato, is a species of plant native to the Garrarnawun Lookout in Judbarra/Gregory National Park, Australia. The species was first collected in 2018, and was formally described by botanists Christopher Martine and Tanisha Williams in 2022.

Mahechadendron is a genus of flowering plants in the family Vochysiaceae. It includes a single species, Mahechadendron puntecascarillo, a tree native to tropical moist forests along the middle Magdalena River in Colombia. The tree produces highly durable wood which is used intensively for construction. The species was described in 2022. Specimens were first collected in the 1960s but wasn't described until flowers and fruits were collected. It is likely most closely related to Callisthene. The authors suggest that the species is endangered.
