Sylvainia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Rubiaceae. It includes a single species, Sylvainia natalensis, a scrambling shrub or tree native to eastern and southeastern Africa, ranging from southern Tanzania through Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, and Eswatini to Lesotho, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Northern Provinces of South Africa. The species was first described as Cephalanthus natalensis in 1881 by Daniel Oliver. In 2023 María Florencia Romero and Roberto M. Salas placed the species in the new monotypic genus Sylvainia.

Pinanga subterranea is a species of tree in the Arecaceae, or palm tree, family native to Borneo. It is widespread in the west of the island, where local communities use it for food.

Cora is a large genus of basidiolichens in the family Hygrophoraceae. Modern molecular phylogenetics research has revealed a rich biodiversity in this largely tropical genus. The genus was originally thought to contain only a single species until DNA studies revealed its extraordinary diversity. High-throughput sequencing has also made it possible to recover fungal internal transcribed spacer (ITS) barcodes from older herbarium specimens of Cora and its close relatives (including material collected in 1888–1998), with sequences obtained from over three-quarters of the historical specimens

In the South Island, it is uncommon, but is found in the Marlborough Sounds. It grows to approximately 15 metres high and has long (5–12 cm), leathery and glossy leaves. Racemes of green flowers are produced in spring followed by a 1 cm long red fruit.
