Agathis robusta, commonly known as Queensland kauri (pine), kauri pine or smooth-barked kauri, is a coniferous tree in the family Araucariaceae. It has a disjunct distribution, occurring in Papua New Guinea and in two widely separated locations in Queensland, Australia. It was first described in 1859 and was heavily logged in the mid-19th century. It is not a true pine (family Pinaceae), but Araucariaceae and Pinaceae are both conifer families in the class Pinopsida....read more on Wikipedia.
