It is dioecious, with separate male and female plants. The genus name of Kerriodoxa is in honour of Arthur Francis George Kerr (1877–1942), an Irish medical doctor.

In Thailand, the plant is known as "kwao krua kao", the 'kao' meaning white which distinguishes Pueraria mirifica from other plants with tuberous roots also sharing the 'kwao krua' designation, such as Butea superba, commonly called kwao krua deng (red) and the 'black' and 'dull grey' kwao krua plants. Cycas chamaoensis is named after the only known habitat of this species, on and near Khao Chamao mountain in Khao Chamao District, Thailand. Stems are arborescent, either erect or decumbent. Leaves numerous, exceeding 60 per crown, 1.2-2.5 meters in length, ending in terminal spine. Petiole 30–60 cm, glabrous and partially spiny. Leaflets in 85-155 pairs, and lanceolate, glabrous and angled forward at 60-70 degrees. Female cones closed type, sporophylls 13–18 cm long with yellow to gray tomentose. 2-4 ovules per sporophyll. Lamina is long, almost circular, with numerous lateral spines.

Lagerstroemia loudonii (Thai: เสลา; RTGS: salao) is a species of flowering plant in the family Lythraceae. Its origin is in Burma and Thailand, where it is found in the wild in Isan and the east down to central Thailand. Salao is a medium-sized tree growing to a height between 10 and 20 m (35 and 65 ft). It is quite common as a decorative tree in the parks of Thailand owing to its bunches of pink flowers. The tree and its flower are the provincial tree as well as the provincial flower of Nakhon Sawan Province.
