The plant is native to Angola, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Uganda, Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
