Martiusella imperialis is a tropical tree of the family Sapotaceae native to eastern Brazil. It is the sole species in genus Martiusella. It is currently classified as an endangered species. Its fruits were very much appreciated by the first emperor of Brazil, Pedro I and his son Pedro II, who exported specimens of the tree as an offering to various botanical gardens around the world, including Sydney and Lisbon....read more on Wikipedia.
